Washington DC - The Coalition for a Democratic Syria thanks Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL), John McCain (R-AZ), Tim Kaine (D-VA), and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for their letter urging the Administration to work with US allies to implement humanitarian safe zones in Syria.
The Syrian American Council, America’s largest and oldest grassroots Syrian American organization, attended President Obama’s Summit on Countering Violent Extremism from February 18th to 20th at the White House. The summit aimed to highlight domestic and international efforts to prevent violent extremists and their supporters from radicalizing, recruiting, or inspiring individuals or groups in the United States and abroad to commit acts of violence and was attended by a large number of local officials and world leaders.
Washington DC – The Coalition for a Democratic Syria (CDS), a coalition representing over 100,000 Syrian Americans, supports last night’s action by a US-led coalition against ISIS in Syria. The international coalition’s campaign began with 47 Tomahawk cruise missiles launched at ISIStargets in Raqqa, where ISIS is headquartered, followed by air strikes in different areas. The air strikes were conducted by the United States, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
