Our Vision

The Syrian American Council (“SAC”) vision is to be a leading grassroots organization advocating for the interests of Syrian Americans in the United States and for a free, democratic, and pluralistic Syria.

 

Our Mission

The mission of SAC is to develop the collective well-being of the Syrian American community through communal cooperation and to build a civically engaged community advocating for positive cooperation between the people of a free Syria and the United States.

Our Advocacy

Members of SAC commit to empowering our community, locally and abroad, through engaged advocacy, respectful political dialogue, and sound training and education. Members of SAC will always advocate for the values core to our community:

 

Self-Determination: We affirm the Syrian people's right to shape their own political future free from external coercion or authoritarian rule.

 

Personal Liberties: We defend individual freedoms, including freedom of speech, belief, and expression, as essential to human dignity and civic life.

 

Inclusion: We advocate for the equitable representation of all people regardless of sect, gender, background, religion or identity and respect the individual experiences and diverse interests of our community.

 

Democracy: We promote democratic governance rooted in fair elections, accountable institutions, and broad civic participation.

 

Rule of Law: We uphold the principle that all individuals and authorities are subject to transparent, just, and impartial legal systems.

 

Sustainable Development: We support policies that balance economic growth, social equity, and environmental stewardship to ensure a just and resilient future for Syrians, by Syrians.
